Ivo Becica to Present on Managing Employee Leave at CCSNJ HR Council Committee Meeting

March 01, 2019

Labor & employment attorney Ivo Becica will be presenting at the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey’s (CCSNJ) Human Resources (HR) Council Committee meeting on Wednesday, March 13, at Woodcrest Country Club in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. His presentation, “Managing Paid Sick Leave and Other Employee Leave Issues: Tips and Best Practices,” will discuss recent developments and legislation regarding paid employee leave in New Jersey. He will be discussing the new paid sick leave law in NJ that took effect on October 29, 2018, the governor-signed expansion of the New Jersey Family Leave Act and family leave insurance program, and other paid leave topics that are relevant to employers at this time. Recent legal changes have created new obligations for employers, including updating employee handbooks, changing policies regarding employees who ask for leave, and addressing leave among employees with performance issues.

The CCSNJ HR Council Committee is an invitation-only committee made up of HR practitioners. The committee meets regularly to hear in-depth presentations from professionals with notable experience and knowledge on workplace issues that impact employers.
