David Nasatir, Derek Green, and Tom Wyatt to Present on Municipal Budgeting and Tax Anticipation Notes

Obermayer attorneys David Nasatir, Derek Green, and Tom Wyatt will join the Pennsylvania Municipal League (PML) for a virtual discussion on Thursday, November 13, 2025, titled “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year: Figuring Out Priorities in a Municipal Budget and Getting a Tax Anticipation Note to Carry You Through.”

Municipalities often face the challenge of balancing community goals with the timing of tax revenue. While funds are needed almost immediately to meet payroll and other obligations, tax payments may take months to arrive. For many communities, a Tax Anticipation Note (TAN) provides a practical solution to maintain fiscal stability during these cash flow gaps.

During this one-hour presentation, panelists will explain how a TAN works, how it is priced and obtained, and how it is documented and closed in time to meet a municipality’s budgetary needs. The discussion will offer insights into the practical steps and timing considerations necessary to execute a TAN efficiently.
