Update: PA Supreme Court Upholds Defense Verdict on $89M Claim Obtained by Attorneys Matthew Green and Lars Lederer

February 20, 2020

After years of legal proceedings, the PA Supreme Court declined any further appeals, upholding a 2017 defense award obtained by Matthew Green and Lars Lederer. The decision confirms their client’s control of H&H Manufacturing Company, Inc. – a family-owned business. On November 30, 2017, Green and Lederer helped Philadelphia businessman Thomas Tomei successfully obtain a defense verdict in a lawsuit seeking ownership and control of the company and $89 million; Green and Lederer also recovered all legal fees incurred in defending the matter through judgment. This defense verdict stands as the third largest non-jury award in Pennsylvania for 2017 following the PA Supreme Court denial of plaintiff’s and intervenor’s recent petitions for allowance of appeal.
