Join family law partner Julie Colton on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, as she presents “Making the Most of your Assets in a Divorce.”
Julie will be joined by Heather Baranowski of Cohen & Co. and Fern Schwartz from Merrill Lynch to discuss how to make the most of your assets during divorce.
- Julie will provide a review of what is a marital asset and how it may be divided.
- Heather will review identifying assets, valuation methods and the tracking of assets.
- Fern will discuss things to consider when deciding which assets to retain. This will include looking at the various asset types and their benefits.
The program will provide information about what clients can do to assist the various professionals to achieve the most beneficial assets distribution.
Julie focuses her practice on family law matters including divorce, child custody, support, asset division, prenuptial agreements, and international custody. She is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and the Treasurer, Court Relations Committee Member. Julie has published articles relating to a variety of family law topics in the Legal Intelligencer, Pennsylvania Family Lawyer, The Journal of the Allegheny County Bar Association, and Jurist. She has also appeared on “Dealing with Divorce” on KDKA Radio, discussing divorce and custody issues.
