Samantha’s practice concentrates on family law exclusively. As an experienced divorce attorney, Samantha understands all aspects of matrimonial litigation and negotiation. She has extensive experience dealing with complex family law matters such as divorce, division of high asset and routine marital estates, support matters, child custody, international divorce, international custody matters, and abuse matters as well as other domestic relations issues, which are often challenging and emotionally charged. She frequently represents clients who reside in Montgomery County and the Main Line, the Philadelphia area, as well as Delaware, Bucks and Chester counties and throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Samantha’s practice philosophy is that her clients need and deserve aggressive, responsive, personal attention with compassion and understanding. She understands that the separation and divorce process is a time when psychological, social and financial issues cause an enormous amount of stress and raise a number of concerns. Therefore, her goal is always to protect her clients’ interests, while at the same time working to bring these emotionally charged matters to an efficient and cost effective resolution. She accomplishes this by listening to her clients, advising and arming them with the information they need to clearly understand the various possible courses of action and strategies available, and helping them choose the best path to achieve their particular objectives and desired resolutions.

In her free time, Samantha enjoys skiing, exercising, traveling, cooking, hiking, kayaking and spending time with her husband, kids and large extended family.

Samantha has successfully represented hundreds of clients, both men and women, in all aspects and stages of family law matters, including: divorce, equitable distribution, spousal support, alimony, alimony pendent lite, child support, custody, appeals, domestic violence hearings, settlement conferences and negotiations, prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements, property settlement agreements, grandparent and third party custody rights, international divorce and custody cases, and she also represents the LGBT community in same-sex divorce and custody matters.

Samantha has handled many complex matrimonial matters for clients, which involve the engagement of a variety of experts, including forensic accountants, employability experts, custody evaluators, real estate and personalty appraisers, private investigators and drug and alcohol evaluators. In addition, she advises clients, many who have a high-net worth, regarding complex businesses and professional practices evaluations and distributions, complex marital estates and executive benefits, such as stock options and restricted stock. Samantha has also been involved in countless cases resulting in negotiated settlements.

Samantha is a frequent speaker and author on all aspects of family law. Recognized by her peers for her work, Ms. Evian was named to the list of “Pennsylvania Rising Stars” by Super Lawyers, a publication of Thomson Reuters which recognizes only 2.5% of attorneys. She has also been named in the 2024 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America© and the Suburban Life and Philadelphia Life Magazines on the “Who’s Who” list of the Best Family Law Attorneys, and on the Top Attorney list – which is created via readers and attorney peers casting their votes for the area’s top lawyers.

Samantha is a Certified Family Law Mediator. She has spoken at numerous, symposiums, Inns of Court, continuing legal education panels, and divorce/family law seminars. She has also appeared on television and radio, discussing family law matters.

Samantha lives on the Main Line in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania with her husband and two sons and is an active member of her community. She volunteers for numerous civic and charitable projects, including the Lower Merion School District Home and School Association, PJ Library, and the Jewish Family and Children’s Services, Hadassah, and has past involvement with the Small Business Development Center at Temple University, the Women’s Law Project, and has also dedicated time to volunteer as a family law attorney for Philadelphia VIP.
