Sam is an attorney in Obermayer’s Family Law Group who focuses her practice exclusively on family law in the greater Mount Laurel, New Jersey area. She represents clients in divorce, custody, domestic violence, adoption, equitable distribution, child and spousal support, guardianship, and child protective services matters.

Sam believes that thoughtful negotiation and practical problem-solving can often help families reach child-centered resolutions while minimizing conflict. When litigation is necessary to protect a child’s best interests, she is prepared to advocate zealously for her clients in court.

For Sam, it has always been about the children. Before becoming an attorney, she was a teacher, working with students from early childhood through high school. That experience shaped her understanding of families and reinforced her commitment to protecting and advocating for children during life’s most significant transitions.

Outside the office, Sam enjoys spending time outdoors with her children and Labrador, especially camping, kayaking, and visiting the Jersey Shore. She also enjoys reading fantasy novels (particularly Harry Potter), watching TV, and is a devoted Disney and Broadway fan.

After graduating from Rutgers Law School, Sam served as a Deputy Attorney General representing New Jersey’s Division of Child Protection and Permanency. In that role, she worked closely with families facing complex and emotionally challenging circumstances, always with the goal of promoting children’s safety and well-being.

Before pursuing her law degree, Sam served as the Head of the Early Childhood Education Department at Burlington County Institute of Technology. Her years as an educator shaped her understanding of the importance of protecting children and supporting families during life’s most significant transitions.

Sam holds a Family Law Specialist Certification.
