Raashida is an attorney in Obermayer’s Labor and Employment department. She represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including employment litigation, employment–related agreements, wage and hour matters, executive compensation, employee benefits, collective bargaining, internal investigations, and labor arbitration.

Raashida is passionate about achieving clients’ goals and is committed to establishing clear and open lines of communication to address her clients’ concerns effectively.

Outside of the office, Raashida likes to explore Philadelphia’s food scene, cook, read autobiographies, novels, and non-fiction, and cheer on the Philadelphia 76ers.     

Raashida has extensive experience in conducting internal investigations, advising clients on DEI policies and the potential challenges and risks to diversity initiatives, and drafting legal memoranda and state and federal court pleadings and motions.

One of Raashida’s most significant accomplishments was participating in an independent investigation of the discovery of MOVE remains at the University of Pennsylvania.

In law school, Raashida was involved in the Black Law Student Association, GW Innocence Project, and The Thurgood Marshall Mentoring Program.

Raashida graduated Howard University (B.S.) with Honors, including summa cum laude. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Gamma Chapter of DC, the Howard University Philly Club, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
