Matt’s a versatile litigator who focuses his practice on real estate, business, and transparency disputes. Matt approaches every case as if it’s going to trial, and he’s committed to going the distance to achieve excellent client results. As an attorney in Obermayer’s Litigation Department, Matt prosecutes and defends partnership disputes and business divorce actions, employee restrictive covenant matters, creditors’ rights and commercial contract disputes, land use, and other property matters.
Matt also has the privilege of representing providers who serve individuals with intellectual disabilities in their funding disputes with the Commonwealth, and has recovered hundreds of thousands of dollars on behalf of providers.
As a first-generation attorney, Matt enjoys giving back to his community by providing pro bono legal representation to underserved Philadelphians and by volunteering to help high school mock trial teams.
Matt’s licensed in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and also practices before a variety of domestic arbitration forums.
Outside of his practice, Matt’s an American history nerd, particularly interested in the American Revolution and the Civil War. He’s active in his church, stays fit through weightlifting and CrossFit, and enjoys relaxing at the beach.

- In a seven-figure commercial contract dispute, obtained dismissal of the lawsuit on jurisdictional grounds.
- Successfully argued before a panel of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, which affirmed a client’s successful motion to dismiss a commercial insurance dispute.
- Obtained an award of attorneys’ fees for his clients in federal court following an improper removal of a state court lawsuit.
- Sat second chair at a legal malpractice trial with potential seven-figure exposure, ultimately resulting in a favorable settlement.
- Obtained favorable arbitration awards in residential real estate and commercial contract disputes.
- Obtained a complete defense verdict in a Pennsylvania arbitration matter on behalf of a nationwide trucking company.
- Defended a major general contractor against construction defect claims at a construction mediation before the American Arbitration Association.
