Obermayer Attorneys Present at 2026 PBA Family Law Winter Meeting
Obermayer attorneys Julie Colton, Melissa Blanco, and Caitlin Foley presented at the PBA Family Law Section Winter Meeting, held January 16–18, 2026, at The Logan Philadelphia Hotel.
Julie Colton spoke at the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers program, “Navigating the Crossroads: Where Family and Dependency Courts Meet.” She discussed how family and dependency courts interact in custody cases, especially when criminal charges or abuse allegations are involved, and shared practical guidance on cases involving child welfare agencies and the new 2026 clearance requirements.
Appellate attorney Melissa Blanco co-presented “Avoid Feeling ‘Rocky’ in Your Appellate Case,” a panel focused on the Pennsylvania appeals process. The session included insights from Superior Court judges on written briefs, interlocutory appeals, effective oral arguments, and common appellate pitfalls.
Caitlin Foley co-presented “It’s Always Legal in Philadelphia: A Case Law Update,” reviewing recent appellate decisions and their impact on child custody and support matters across Pennsylvania.
