Michael Bertin Continues Service as Immediate Past President of Pennsylvania Chapter of AAML

On July 10, 2025, Obermayer Partner and Family Law Department Co-Chair Michael E. Bertin concluded a successful term as President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), the nation’s leading organization of family law attorneys. Michael now serves as Immediate Past President of the Chapter, having previously held the roles of President, President-Elect, Vice President, and Secretary. He will continue to serve on the Chapter’s Executive Committee in this capacity, reflecting his ongoing dedication to the field of family law.

Michael concentrates his practice on child custody, support, divorce, and related domestic relations matters. He represents clients across the Philadelphia region, including Montgomery, Delaware, Bucks, and Chester counties, with offices in Philadelphia and West Conshohocken.

Michael is a widely published legal author with over 140 articles and is the co-author of Pennsylvania Child Custody Law, Practice, and Procedure, a leading resource for attorneys and judges across the commonwealth. He has received numerous professional honors, including selection by Best Lawyers as the 2021 Family Law “Lawyer of the Year” in the Philadelphia region, consistent inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America (2015–2025), and recognition by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers (2014–2025).

He also serves as Chair of Obermayer’s Pro Bono Committee and was inducted into the Upper Dublin High School Alumni Hall of Fame in 2025 for his distinguished career in family law.
