Julie Colton and Matthew Rogers Continue Leadership in ACBA Family Law Section
Julie Colton
Obermayer family law partner Julie Colton was recognized at the May 13, 2026, annual meeting of the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) Family Law Section for her two years of service as the Section’s Chair and will now transition to Immediate Past Chair.
Beyond her practice, Julie is an Adjunct Professor of family law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, a frequent legal author and KDKA Radio guest, and a dedicated pro bono advocate for Neighborhood Legal Service, where she previously served as Board President. Julie serves on the Domestic Relations Law Advisory Committee of the Joint State Government Commission, the bipartisan research agency of the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
Julie has published articles relating to a variety of family law topics in The Legal Intelligencer, Pennsylvania Family Lawyer, The Journal of the Allegheny County Bar Association, and Jurist. She has also appeared on “Dealing with Divorce” on KDKA Radio, discussing divorce and custody issues.

Matthew Rogers
During the meeting, Matthew Rogers was elected Treasurer of the ACBA Family Law Section, following his tenure on the Section’s Council.
Matthew concentrates his practice exclusively on family law. He handles all aspects of high-asset, complex domestic relations matters, including divorce, marital settlement agreements, custody agreements, and support agreements, as well as pre-marital and post-nuptial agreements. Matthew also has experience in family law mediation and Protection from Abuse Orders. In the community, Matthew has served on the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh branch of the Children’s Heart Foundation Congenital Heart Walk, the Mount Lebanon Platform Tennis Association, and the Southminster Child Care Center.
