“I’m incredibly committed, persistent, and excited about each new opportunity.”
Tara Burns is a litigation attorney. As part of both her litigation and family law practice, Tara conducts legal research and drafts memoranda on her findings, aids clients and attorneys with the discovery process, and prepares pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses.
Tara is motivated by the opportunity to constantly interact with the community, to come up with solutions, and advocate in ways that make people’s lives less stressful. The highlights of her time working in the legal field involve working closely with clients to provide lasting solutions to problems that previously affected them on a daily basis.
In her spare time, Tara enjoys going to concerts, visiting the art museums around Philadelphia, reading, golfing, hiking, and spending time with family (and the family dogs).
While in law school, Tara worked as an advocate for victims of domestic violence and represented clients applying for civil protective orders as an extern at a private pro bono practice. She also worked to preserve student’s rights to free and appropriate public education as a member of the Duke Children’s Law Clinic.
In law school, Tara served as a guardian ad litem and worked with a program that taught Mock Trial/public speaking to middle schoolers, activities she hopes to continue in Philadelphia.
