Amanda advises people during some of the most challenging times of their lives. Her goal is to help move clients away from the discord in their present dynamic and toward cultivating and living a better future.

Amanda believes in honest and clear communication. She is constantly interacting with her clients, both listening and advising, to ensure they feel educated, empowered, and confident in their decisions. She strives to provide her clients with an overview of the legal process, and clearly inform them of their rights and options so that they can make the best decisions for themselves and their families. Amanda’s training in Collaborative Law and undergraduate degree in Psychology are some of the foundations for her unique ability to empathize with her clients and then zealously advocate in their case.

Growing up in Bucks County and Montgomery County, respectively, they now enjoy taking their very energetic boy/girl twins to activities and places they enjoyed as children.

Prior to joining Obermayer, Amanda gained professional experience in all aspects of family law, and at all stages, including negotiation, mediation and litigation. She most recently worked for a prestigious mid-sized Maryland law firm doing solely family law and domestic matters. Amanda has handled high conflict and large asset cases involving pre- and post-nuptial agreements, child custody matters, child support actions, domestic violence, and divorce matters, including spousal support/alimony and the identification, valuation, classification, and division of marital and non-marital property.

Amanda was selected as a fellow for the Leadership Development Academy for the Montgomery County Bar Association MD, a prestigious program focused on building leaders in the legal and local community through a series of events and meetings throughout the year hosted by the Bar. She then was a Committee member for the Academy and named the Meetings Co-Chair.
Amanda is also a trained Collaborative Law attorney and was an active member of Maryland’s Collaborative Dispute Resolution Professionals group.
