Julie Colton on the Board for Neighborhood Legal Services

July 01, 2019 | By Julie R. Colton

Obermayer’s partner Julie Colton was reappointed to a second three year term on the Board for Neighborhood Legal Services. Her new term began on July 1, 2019.

Established in 1966, Neighborhood Legal Services Association (NLSA) provides free civil legal aid to low-income, elderly, and abused residents of Allegheny (and later) Beaver, Butler and Lawrence Counties.

Since its establishment, NLSA has provided civil legal services to over 1.1 million individuals who would otherwise have been denied access to the justice system.
Each year over 17,000—women, children and the elderly—ask for our help with dire legal problems such as protection from abuse, wrongful eviction, mortgage foreclosure, wage claims, child custody disputes, and denial of essential benefits.
