“Despite what some movies suggest, you can’t avoid death (or taxes)! I’m motivated to help clients plan for the future and navigate the loss of a loved one, a process that affects everyone regardless of wealth or status. ”

- Kelly M. Barry

Kelly focuses exclusively on estate and trust law, including estate planning, asset protection, trust and estate administration, business succession planning, and charitable giving. She represents both fiduciaries and beneficiaries and creates tailored estate plans to secure family legacies and provide peace of mind. Kelly guides clients through every step of the process, from initial consultations and planning meetings to preparing documents ranging from simple powers of attorney to complex trusts.

Kelly provides flexible support, including filings with the Surrogate/Register of Wills, preparing tax returns, addressing beneficiary questions, and finalizing distributions, or serving in a more limited advisory role as needed. When disputes arise, Kelly works to resolve issues outside of litigation, helping families save time, preserve assets, and maintain relationships.

In her free time, Kelly enjoys reading, training for her next race, her favorite being the Broad Street Run, exploring new restaurants in Philadelphia, cheering on Philly sports teams (even through the heartbreak), and planning her next vacation.

Kelly has guided individuals, couples, and families through estate planning and administration, handling matters ranging from insolvent estates to multi-million-dollar estates and from intestacy to complex trusts. She advises families, high-net-worth individuals, and business owners on estate planning, resolves pre-litigation disputes, and litigates estate issues when necessary.

She has extensive experience developing comprehensive, tailored estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and overseeing all aspects of estate administration, from opening probate and preparing required documents to coordinating property cleanouts, addressing uncooperative beneficiaries, and issuing refunding bonds and releases.

Kelly was named to the 2026 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for her work in Trusts & Estates.
