Attorneys Taranae Hashemi and Deborah Stern to Present at CLM 2019 Annual Conference

Attorneys Taranae Hashemi and Deborah Stern will be speaking at the CLM 2019 Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida. Taranae will be joined by Meghan Henry of Morgan & Akins, Amelia Schock of Chubb, and Lisa Callahan of Great American Insurance Company. Their presentation, titled, “Taking Charge and Making Changes, How Women in Law are Remolding the Legal Landscape and What Needs to be Done Next,” will address how women have positively influenced the law while simultaneously altering perceptions of women in the legal world. The panelists will discuss the benefits of promoting women within companies, maintaining re-entrance programs for women who may leave the field, cultivating young talent, collaborating between genders to provide positive mentor opportunities for women as well as brainstorm new ideas to grow the field and female talent.

Deborah will be on a panel titled, “Preparing for the Unspeakable. A Seminar around the Threat of an Active Shooter.” She will be joined by Seth Davis of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, Josh Greenbaum of Cozen O’Connor, and Christopher Grosso of Conner Strong & Buckelew. This panel is designed to address the legal liability issues for commercial businesses and property owners confronted with active shooter and workplace violence events. It will address the threat of active shooter violence in the workplace, key liability issues that businesses should be aware of, and the evolution of caselaw on these issues. The panel will further address vendor insurance issues to be aware of when selecting and hiring vendors as well as an overview of the coverages that may be triggered by traditional and specialized insurance policies.
