“I am thoughtful and detail-oriented about each case that I handle. I practice law with a sense of principle and integrity, providing each client with the same care that I would provide a family member or friend.”

- Vaishnavi Arshanapally

Vaishnavi is an attorney in Obermayer’s Litigation Department. She focuses her practice on medical malpractice and professional liability defense, representing Pennsylvania-based health care providers and facilities.

Vaishnavi is proactive in her approach to litigation. She provides solutions for complex legal issues and creates a roadmap for each client’s success. Additionally, she seeks to anticipate issues before they arise and provides strategies for addressing them.

When not working, Vaishnavi loves to travel, explore the restaurant scene, read, and learn new languages. She speaks Telugu (conversational), Hindi (conversational), and Spanish (Intermediate), and is currently trying to learn French.

Prior to attending law school, Vaishnavi completed a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, where she concentrated her studies in Neuroscience and Pre-Medicine.

Since graduating law school, Vaishnavi has concentrated her practice on civil litigation, insurance defense, and medical professional liability defense.  She effectively represents physicians, health care facilities, and other health care providers in all aspects of the litigation process, managing every phase of a case, including client correspondence, document review and production, taking and defending depositions, motion practice, argument, and settlement negotiations.

Some of Vaishnavi’s most notable accomplishments include:

  • Second-chairing a jury trial to defense verdict in a medical professional liability action arising from the unexpected death of 24-year-old from a fatal arrhythmia in the Emergency Department.
  • Assisting with the complete dismissal, following entry of a default judgment, of a case filed against her client for alleged negligence via a Motion for Summary Judgment.
  • Successfully authoring several dispositive motions in State and Federal Court.

While in law school, Vaishnavi served as Vice President of the Health Law Association and Vice President of the Women’s Law Caucus. She also served on the Moot Court Executive Board and received the following awards at the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition: Best Petitioner’s Brief Award & 4th Place Overall, Mid-Atlantic Region. Notably, she was inducted into the Order of Barristers, a national honor society which recognizes graduating law students who demonstrate exceptional skill in trial advocacy, oral advocacy, and brief writing.  She also received the CALI Award for the highest grade in Real Estate Negotiation & Drafting.

While pursuing her B.A., Vaishnavi was on Boston College’s Women’s Rugby team. She also Co-Chaired the Entertainment Committee of Relay for Life.
