Stephanie Stecklair Tarantino

Stephanie is a family law attorney in Obermayer’s office in Doylestown, PA. She concentrates her practice in all aspects of family law, including divorce, custody, child and spousal support, equitable distribution, adoption, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and domestic violence. In addition to practicing in Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia, Chester, and Delaware Counties, Stephanie has served as a Guardian ad Litem in Philadelphia County.

The reason Stephanie became a lawyer is fairly simple – she wants to help people. She meets her clients often when they are in crisis and contemplating difficult next steps. She believes that her job is to not only inform clients about the Pennsylvania Divorce Code and how it applies to their family law matter but to help them transition and get to a place of peace. She does this by being honest, attentive, and managing expectations. She analyzes, provides information, and strives to ensure clients are in a position where they are informed and confident in approaching their case. For custody cases, Stephanie encourages and facilitates an approach that allows parents in conflict to look at the bigger picture (their children) and focus on improving their relationship as co-parents. She recognizes that a harmonious outcome is not always possible so she is also prepared to help clients by being a zealous advocate in the courtroom.

In her free time, Stephanie loves spending time with her family. She is a fitness enthusiast and enjoys working out whether it is on her Peloton, taking a bootcamp, attending a gym class, or running/hiking outside during nicer weather. Stephanie looks forward to our world improving and being able to travel again with her husband, Vinny.

No case or litigant has the “perfect set of facts.” Stephanie believes in strong cases and weak cases, but we have a judiciary in place for a reason – to help resolve disputes and issue orders when parties cannot agree. Stephanie recently spent several days in trial, over the course of several months, litigating a difficult case. From an outsider looking in, she did not have the best set of facts to work with. The recently received decision in this matter was in favor of Stephanie’s client. Stephanie and her client worked diligently to review and prepare evidence to ensure the Judge saw beyond the “bad facts” and presented arguments, evidence, and testimony that encouraged the Judge to pause and really consider the other side’s motivation.

Stephanie is dedicated to giving back to the community. She is a proud member of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Executive Committee and assists with a wide range of volunteer efforts and law school outreach. Stephanie is also a member of the Makefield Women’s Association and is an active volunteer for Philadelphia VIP and the Support Center for Child Advocates.

Stephanie was recently featured in Volume 40, Issue No. 4 of the PBA Family Lawyer. She was included in the “Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch” list for Family Law by Best Lawyers® for 2021 to 2024, and the Pro Bono Roll of Honor, First Judicial District of Pennsylvania (2016 – 2019). Stephanie has been named a Pennsylvania Rising Star by Thomson Reuters for Family Law every year since 2018.
