“I help my clients find practical solutions to their most difficult problems. Whether it’s a real estate issue or business matter, I try to provide straightforward, objective advice that helps them efficiently accomplish their goals.”

- Mike Malloy

Mike spent years as an attorney in private practice helping individuals and corporations navigate their real estate and business problems, and most recently, 11 years as general counsel of one of Pennsylvania’s largest, most successful privately held suburban real estate companies. Mike has broad ranging experience in handling real estate transactions, zoning and land use cases, commercial lease negotiations, and construction disputes and also acts as “general counsel” to small and medium sized businesses, who rely daily on his legal and operational advice. Mike’s time in corporate leadership affords him a broader perspective that often enables him to consider both the practical and legal implications of a transactional, litigation or corporate matter. Mike represents real estate owners, investors and developers; as well as corporations and nonprofits.

When he’s not working, Mike enjoys spending time with his son and daughter, running and traveling.

Mike was fortunate enough to serve for over a decade as general counsel of one of Pennsylvania’s largest and most successful suburban real estate companies.  Mike has experience in all matters zoning and land use, and has overseen the development, construction and management of thousands of apartment units, and over half a million square feet of commercial, industrial, retail, and hospitality space.

Some of his most notable accomplishments are:

  • Successfully helped steer a major real estate company through the Great Recession and then oversaw a period of nearly 40% growth in assets.
  • Successfully prosecuted municipal approvals for 1,075 multifamily apartment units and 500K+ square feet of commercial, retail, and hospitality space.
  • Acted as lead counsel in a $25MM acquisition of a mixed-use community in Gainesville, Florida, with 40 multifamily units and 110,000 feet of storefront retail and office, and an additional 140 multifamily units and ground floor retail space currently under construction.
  • Co-led team to win bid for two projects at University of Pennsylvania – an administrative office building, with ground floor retail, which was the first building in Philadelphia to receive the LEED FAR bonus; and The Wharton School’s new Tangen Hall – a business incubator and maker space for student project development.
  • Negotiated with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to cooperatively develop the new Downingtown Train Station, which will include 450+ market rate, multifamily units, plus retail, industrial and institutional space.

Mike is a member of the Board of Directors of the Melanoma International Foundation and a frequent guest lecturer at St. Joseph’s University Real Estate and Construction Society.  In law school, he was a member of the National Trial Team, and served as a staff editor for the Environmental and Technology Law Journal.
