“I do not give up easily and I always try to be as creative as possible to figure out the best solution to a problem. Instead of coming to my clients with problems I like to present them with solutions.”

“I do not give up easily and I always try to be as creative as possible to figure out the best solution to a problem. Instead of coming to my clients with problems I like to present them with solutions.”

- Igor Stolyar

Igor focuses his practice in professional liability, insurance and self-insured business defense litigation. His ability to win oral arguments has helped him successfully represent clients in motor vehicle accident cases from inception to trial. While at MVAIC, Igor regularly communicated with MVAIC’s Tort and Qualification Departments concerning litigation strategy and case management. Igor is involved in all phases of litigation including, discovery, motions, conferences, depositions, and Framed Issue Hearings.

Igor’s practice approach is to bring clarity to his clients’ legal situation, explaining the reality and what is achievable. Igor is passionate about problem solving and uses his creativity and emotional intelligence to present his clients with solutions, outlining an action plan that accomplishes their goals, while respecting their comfort zone. Igor enjoys taking on new tasks and figuring them out. He finds appearing before a judge and arguing his clients side exhilarating and rewarding.

In his free time Igor I likes to cook and watch cooking shows. As a huge soccer fan he often finds himself cheering in front of the television.

Prior to joining Obermayer, Igor gained a wide range of legal experience in defense and Juvenile Delinquency litigation. As a defendant, Igor successfully defended hundreds of motor vehicle cases against plaintiffs and co-defendants bringing many actions to a close before they reached the trial stage. As a plaintiff, he settled millions of dollars for his clients through settlement, arbitration, and mediation.

As student attorney he represented undocumented children and teenagers in citizenship and guardianship proceedings. As Federal Judicial Extern, Igor participated and observed several federal proceedings and criminal proceedings, all while clerking and assisting the Federal Judge.

Igor utilizes his extensive experience in preparation of pleadings, discovery demands and responses, and motions to implement new practices for paralegals. His motion practice templates set standards for his fellow attorneys.
