Emily is an attorney concentrating her practice on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and the representation of tax-exempt organizations. As a member of Obermayer’s Trusts & Estates Department, Emily assists clients with estate planning by drafting wills, trusts, financial powers of attorney, and healthcare powers of attorney.

Emily assists with a range of estate and trust administration matters, including settlement agreements, Orphans’ Court petitions, and fiduciary litigation.

Emily also assists with the representation of tax-exempt organizations. These representations include drafting formation documents and completing applications for both state and federal tax exemption. For example, Emily helped complete the lengthy IRS Form 1023 for a newly-formed foundation.

In her spare time, Emily likes hiking, biking, boating, and vegetable gardening. Before becoming a lawyer, she earned a master’s degree in art and architectural history and worked in museums. She loves visiting museums and notable architecture. She is also an avid photographer.

While in law school, Emily served as a legal intern for the Delaware River Basin Commission. She was an associate editor of the Washington University Journal of Law & Policy, in which she published a policy note.

Before law school, Emily worked in the curatorial departments of several museums, including The Barnes Foundation and Portland Museum of Art in Maine.
