Obermayer’s New York City office is seeking an associate to join its growing Labor & Employment group. The firm’s Labor & Employment Group predominantly represents management in all types of employment-related legal matters. Clients include small businesses, Fortune 500 companies, retailers, restaurants, municipalities, and many more. Services range from defense of pending claims before state and federal court and administrative agencies to helping clients avoid litigation through the use of policy writing and revisions, trainings, and advice and counseling.
The ideal candidate should have 2-5 years’ experience in employment litigation and must be licensed in New York and proficient in New York state court practice. The candidate will be expected to handle tasks such as research, motion practice, written discovery, and meeting client reporting requirements. License in Connecticut and/or experience with employment law advice & counseling and/or labor disputes is a plus. Please be advised that, due to COVID-19, the chosen candidate would be expected to report to our office in New Haven, Connecticut once a week for the foreseeable future.
