Lanique Roberts to Present at “The Driving Diversity in Law & Leadership: Philadelphia”
Obermayer attorney Lanique Roberts will co-present at CenterForce’s virtual summit “The Driving Diversity in Law & Leadership: Philadelphia,” on December 2, 2020. Lanique’s panel, titled “The Time for Change is Now: Developing & Promoting Leaders of Color” will explore the following topics:
• The challenges that minority leaders face in the legal profession
• Why law firms and other employers should care about retaining and advancing people of color
• Performative vs. Sustainable change
• Affinity groups and other resources
• Success stories – Advice for young attorneys of color
Lanique is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Family Law Departments. As part of her practice, Lanique conducts legal research and drafts legal memoranda analyzing issues for the firm’s commercial litigation matters. She also drafts various filings including motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses and assists commercial clients in pre-trial discovery.
Lanique co-chairs Obermayer’s Diversity & Inclusion committee. She also serves as a Philadelphia Bar Foundation Board Observer for the Anti-Defamation League. Lanique also serves on the University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association (PAA) Equity and Social Justice Task Force, a task force that examines the PAA’s programs and policies through an equity and social justice lens in order to make recommendations on steps that should be taken to strengthen the PAA’s support and inclusion of all students, alumni, and staff. In Philadelphia, Lanique provides pro bono legal services to the city’s homeless population through the Homeless Advocacy Project. Learn more about Lanique here.
