Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP is pleased to announce that we are a member of the International Alliance of Law Firms (formerly International Association of Commercial Lawyers (ACL International). The Alliance is an international network of select, business-oriented law firms. It was founded to enable clients to obtain global legal services from the Alliance’s individual Members. The common aim of the Member firms is to combine positive legal advice with sound commercial judgment and litigation expertise when required.
The Alliance currently has 53 Member firms in 38 countries. Candidates for membership are submitted to a detailed selection procedure. Obermayer is one of only nine Alliance firms located within the United States Obermayer is the only Pennsylvania law firm that is a member of this association.
Local representation in a foreign jurisdiction offers many advantages. If a company is expanding into a foreign market, an Alliance Member firm should be able to assist with commercial negotiations, help locate suitable premises, examine the most tax effective structures, source grants and incentives available and arrange meetings with local authorities and other professionals. All Member firms can work in the English language and have a wealth of local knowledge.
