The discussion will focus on enforcement strategies and the ins and outs of some of the laws enforced by the Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor, including the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act, as well as recent changes to the Family and Medical Leave Act. It is a presentation by a key local administrator from the U.S. DOL that you won’t want to miss.

Following this Presentation: 

Participants will better understand the laws that the U.S. DOL enforces, the ways in which the DOL enforces them, and the employer’s obligations and responsibilities in order to be in statutory compliance. 

Participants will be able to examine their own policies and procedures for pay practices, recordkeeping systems, employment of minors, and FMLA requirements, to ensure that they are in compliance with the laws the DOL enforces. 

Participants will be able to immediately update and implement changes to their human resource guidelines and processes, as necessary and applicable, to maintain compliance under the federal labor laws the DOL enforces.

About the Speaker:

Mr. Cain is the District Director for the Philadelphia District Office of the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division.  Mr. Cain has also served in the positions of Assistant District Director in Philadelphia and Regional Enforcement Coordinator in the Midwest Region.  Mr. Cain began his career with the Wage and Hour Division in 1994 as an Investigator.
