Obermayer Welcomes Hillary Moonay Back as Equity Partner
Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP is welcoming back attorney Hillary Moonay. Moonay—who began her career at Obermayer as a summer associate — returns as an equity partner. Her arrival expands the firm’s family law practice to the Bucks County area, a year after the firm opened new offices in Doylestown.
Moonay will focus her practice exclusively in the area of family law, where she has handled all phases of the negotiation and litigation of domestic relations cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony/spousal support, equitable distribution, prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements, and related issues for over 20 years. She is well-versed in the financial aspects of divorce cases, including the intricate issues related to complex business valuations and forensic accounting matters. Additionally, she is trained in several areas of alternative dispute resolution, and has resolved many of her clients’ family law disputes via mediation and collaborative law.
Adam Tanker will also be joining Obermayer as an associate. Tanker will mainly focus his practice on all aspects of family law matters, including alimony/spousal support, divorce, equitable distribution, marital agreements, child support, and child custody. Tanker is a seasoned attorney, and has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer “Rising Star” every year since 2015, and in 2017 Tanker was named a Main Line Today top lawyer in the area of family law. Additionally, Tanker brings criminal defense experience to Obermayer. Tanker is a former Deputy District Attorney for the Bucks County District Attorney’s office, and served as the Chief of the Asset Forfeiture Unit. Tanker also served as a child advocate and guardian for the Montgomery County Child Advocacy Project.
“It’s great that we have family lawyers in Doylestown, because it will allow us to better serve clients who live in Bucks, Lehigh and Northampton Counties. We’re also able to coordinate with our Cherry Hill, NJ office, so clients have access to attorneys practicing in both states. With the Doylestown office so close to the Courthouse, attorneys in all of our offices will be able to meet with clients before and after Court hearings in a private setting, while having resources available for last minute changes if necessary,” Family Law Chair David Ladov said.

Her extensive experience in Bucks County will be a huge asset, as we continue expanding our regional offices. Hillary Moonay has been recognized as one of the premier family law practitioners in the county, and has served in numerous leadership roles on the Pennsylvania Bar Association. She has been a frequent author for the Legal Intelligencer, the Pennsylvania Family Lawyer publication, and has given lectures on a host of family law topics. Recently, she became a member of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers which recognized her as a leading practitioner in the area of matrimonial law.
