Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP adds Charlene A. Barker and Lisa Koblin to the firm’s labor relations & employment law department in its Philadelphia office. The growing employment and labor team now boasts a total of 18 lawyers.

            Barker focuses her practice on employment and labor law litigation, defending employers in federal and state court and before administrative agencies in a wide variety of labor and employment matters. Her employment practice is focused primarily on civil actions arising under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act (PHRA), the Pennsylvania Wage Payment and Collection Law (WPCL) and the New York State Human Rights Law (NYSHRL). Prior to joining the firm, Barker worked at another Philadelphia firm in their Business Law & Litigation Department where she focused on employment litigation.

Koblin focuses her practice on employment and labor law litigation, defending clients in suits involving allegations of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, hostile work environment, common law tort claims and allegations of procedural or substantive due process violations. Prior to joining the firm, she served in the role of Deputy Attorney General for the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General where she acted as co-lead trial counsel for successful civil jury trials, obtained summary judgments on behalf of state agencies and represented defendants through all stages of litigation proceedings in the Superior Court of New Jersey, as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
