Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – April 17, 2014 – Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP labor relations and employment law attorneys Michael Pepperman and Tiffani McDonough were the featured speakers on April 16th at the Sports & Entertainment Law Society at the University of Tulsa College of Law.  Pepperman and McDonough discussed the recent unprecedented decision in Northwestern University v. College Athletes Players Association (Case 13-RC-121359), wherein the NLRB held that scholarship football players are entitled to have a union election because they are “employees” under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), and the impact the decision will likely have on college athletic programs if it is upheld on appeal.

Pepperman is a partner and McDonough an associate in Obermayer’s Labor Relations and Employment Law department.
