On December 15, 2015, Mayor Michael Nutter signed off on several amendments to Philadelphia’s 2012 Fair Criminal Records Screening Standards Ordinance. The 2012 Ordinance was enacted to prevent discrimination against job applicants with criminal records, as it barred Philadelphia employers from making inquiries into applicants’ criminal histories during the application process.
