Timothy Ford is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department, focusing on complex litigation and investigations. He helps clients navigate all phases of high-stakes litigation and investigations, from prelitigation advice, pleadings, motions practice, and discovery, through trial and appeal.
Mr. Ford’s practice also includes an emphasis on election law. Representative matters include constitutional litigation in state and federal court, nomination petition challenges and defenses, and local ballot questions, as well as campaign finance compliance and ethics investigations. In these matters, he brings experience in government and on campaigns at the state and federal levels. He has served as a legislative assistant to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Ways and Means, worked on the policy team of a major statewide political campaign in California, and defended state law and policy in state and federal court as a legal intern in the Michigan Solicitor General Bureau.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Ford served as a law clerk to the Hon. Timothy J. Savage on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He also worked as an associate in a Washington, D.C. law firm where he focused on litigation and investigations in international trade. During law school, Mr. Ford served as executive editor on the Michigan Law Review.
