Michael P. Weinstein has over 30 years of experience in the field of state and local taxation, representing a countless number of individuals, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, business trusts, non-profit organizations, fiduciaries and municipalities in state and local tax matters.
Mr. Weinstein advises his clients in all aspects of planning and structuring of new business ventures and commercial transactions so that the assessments of state and local income taxes, capital stock, franchise, gross receipts, sales and use, employment, real estate, liquid fuels, realty transfer, inheritance and other excise taxes are minimized. In addition, he represents clients in all aspects of state and local tax compliance, ranging from providing audit support to contesting tax adjustments proposed by state and local taxing authorities. Such representation includes both administrative challenges to asserted tax deficiencies and appeals in the appellate courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Weinstein represents a broad spectrum of business organizations ranging from large national and multinational clients to multi-state, regional and local clients involved in real estate development, e-commerce, retail, health care and other service industries.
Mr. Weinstein was an adjunct faculty member of Temple University School of Law's Graduate Tax Program and has lectured at tax law institutes and seminars over the course of the years of his practice.
