John J. Ehlinger, Jr. has nearly 40 years of experience across a broad range of corporate and financial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate and public finance, venture capital financings and securities transactions. In addition, he regularly advises boards of directors, senior management, institutional investors and stockholder groups regarding corporate governance and general legal matters, in many cases, managing the delivery of multi-disciplinary legal services.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Ehlinger had a leading role in structuring, negotiating and documenting transactions such as venture capital and private equity investments; management and investor led buyouts of manufacturing concerns, e-commerce and internet service providers, independent power producers and distribution companies; joint venture structuring and financings; secured and unsecured lending transactions; letter of credit backed transactions; corporate and financial restructurings; private and public securities offerings; acquisitions; the financing of health care facilities, continuing care communities and occupational health providers; public and private debt financings; structured debt and project financings; corporate divestiture programs and transactions.
Mr. Ehlinger joined Obermayer in 1979 from the Penn Central Corporation where he participated in the development and implementation of the reorganization plans for Penn Central and its principal subsidiaries.
