Erica Woebse is a member of the firm’s Health Law Department. She represents health care providers, hospitals, single and multi-specialty physician group practices, and other health industry entities regarding health care regulatory and legal matters. She is a regular contributor to Obermayer’s Health Law Gurus blog.

Ms. Woebse drafts contracts on behalf of clients, including business associate agreements, employment agreements, asset purchase agreements, physician employment agreements, management service agreements, and governance documents such as bylaws, operating agreements, independent contractor agreements, and compliance plans.

She also counsels clients to ensure that they remain compliant with both federal and state laws and regulations. She advises on compliance and regulatory matters, including HIPAA, the Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute. She also advises on the rules and regulations regarding protected health information, security breaches, and privacy issues.

Ms. Woebse regularly conducts HIPAA trainings for health care clients.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Woebse worked in the commercial and insurance defense litigation group at another Philadelphia law firm, where she handled general liability claims and provided coverage opinions on a variety of issues. Before that she was as a legal fellow for a U.S. Senator and for a government relations firm.

Ms. Woebse is a Certified Information Privacy Professional, U.S. and a Certified Information Privacy Professional, U.S. Government Regulations.
