Matthew A. Kelly is an associate with Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP. He is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department.
Mr. Kelly concentrates his practice in intellectual property law, patent prosecution, patent and trademark litigation, complex civil litigation and commercial litigation.
Mr. Kelly earned his Juris Doctor degree from Villanova University School of Law where he served on the Villanova University Environmental Law Journal. He was nominated to the National Legal Honor Society, Phi Delta Phi, in 1995. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and English from the University of Notre Dame.
He was selected in 2008, 2007 and 2006 as a “Pennsylvania Rising Star” in Philadelphia magazine and Law and Politics Magazine, Pennsylvania Super Lawyers - “Rising Star” December editions. Rising Stars are chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics as being among the top-up-and-coming lawyers in the Commonwealth. Only 2.5 percent of Pennsylvania attorneys receive this honor each year. He was also featured in the “Ask Rising Stars” in response to a question concerning cyber etiquette and blogs. (Philadelphia magazine, December 2007).
Mr. Kelly is active in the community and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Family YMCA.
Mr. Kelly is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Benjamin Franklin Inn of Court and the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association.
Mr. Kelly is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He is also registered to practice with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
