Kevin J. Kehner is an associate with Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP. He is a member of the firm’s Environmental Law Department.
Mr. Kehner's practice includes the representation of companies and property owners in handling a wide variety of federal and state environmental matters, including Superfund litigation, soil and groundwater contamination, storage tank issues, solid waste disposal, asbestos and toxic torts, construction litigation and insurance disputes.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University and his Juris Doctor from Temple University Law School. Prior to joining Obermayer, he served as Corporate Counsel and Risk Manager at a developing internet/telecommunications company in southern New Jersey.
Mr. Kehner started his career in 1982 in casualty and environmental litigation, following a clerkship with the United States Magistrates in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. His practice then focused in general environmental regulatory and litigation matters, and casualty and corporate litigation. He became Of Counsel to a litigation firm in New Jersey where he continued to handle Superfund litigation, toxic tort and property damage claims. During this time, he also utilized his broad range of experience as a litigation and claims management consultant to insurance carriers and corporate legal departments, with an emphasis on environmental and construction claims.
Mr. Kehner is a member of the American Bar Association (Sections on Litigation, Insurance and Natural Resources Law), Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Philadelphia Bar Associations. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Trinity United Methodist Church in Mullica Hill, New Jersey and a past member, Executive Committee, Federal Bar Association (Young Lawyers Division).
He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and District of New Jersey; the Supreme, Superior and Commonwealth Courts of Pennsylvania; Supreme Court of New Jersey; and all local courts of Philadelphia.
