 D. Alexander Barnes is a partner in the Creditor’s Rights, Bankruptcy and Financial Reorganization Department of Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP. He concentrates his practice in bankruptcy, reorganization, creditor's rights and commercial litigation. He has extensive experience representing committees of unsecured creditors, Chapter 11 and 7 Trustees, secured creditors and debtors in commercial bankruptcy cases. Mr. Barnes also lectures on bankruptcy matters for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.
Mr. Barnes earned his law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. He is a member of the bar of the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey and is admitted to practice before the Federal Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania, District of New Jersey, Eastern District of Wisconsin, and District of Arizona.
Mr. Barnes is active in the community and currently serves as treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Upper Main Line YMCA, Berwyn Branch, and also serves on the Upper Main Line YMCA’s Association Board where he is a member of the Finance Committee. Additionally, Mr. Barnes serves as treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Conestoga Youth Lacrosse Association and has coached youth lacrosse travel and select tournament teams for a number of years.
