Joan M. Roediger is a partner with Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP. She is a member of the firm’s Business and Finance Department and Health Care Practice Group.
Ms. Roediger has extensive experience in physician and healthcare practice management matters, physician employment contracting, co-ownership arrangements, practice sales, strategic planning, mergers and network development, as well as hospital and managed care contracting issues.
She joined Obermayer after years of providing legal and consulting advice to for-profit and not for-profit single and multi-specialty physicians practices relating to mergers, acquisition and divestitures of medical practices. Her health care experience includes negotiating and implementing physician practice arrangements, buy-in arrangements, deferred compensation agreements, termination agreements and income division methodologies as well as joint venture agreements, ASC's, IPA’s and MSO’s and dealing with issues involving fraud and abuse, compliance plans, HIPAA counseling, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, non-profit law, employment law and technology issues. Additionally, Ms. Roediger has served as a public health law reviewer for The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She has been recognized as both one of Pennsylvania's Rising Star's Super Lawyers and one of Pennsylvania's Super Lawyers.
Ms. Roediger is a nationally recognized speaker and lectures around the country on practice management related issues as well as on managed care, financial and legal issues to various medical societies, universities and medical staffs. Ms. Roediger was awarded her Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law where she was a member of law review, The Delaware Journal of Corporate Law, President of the Health Law Society and student managing editor of The Pennsylvania Society of Health Care Attorneys Newsletter. She received her L.L.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.B.A. in Business Law from Temple University.
She is admitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Eastern District Court of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. She is also a member of The American Health Lawyers' Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Health Care Law Committee and the Montgomery Bar Association, Health Law Committee and Corporate Counsel Committee.
