David A. Nasatir is a partner with Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP. He is a member of the firm’s Business and Finance Department.

Mr. Nasatir concentrates his practice in the areas of creditors’ rights, lender liability, finance, municipal law, business law and real estate development.  His experience includes handling workout of complex financing projects and structuring of multimillion dollar real estate developments. He also counsels clients on public finance, zoning and general corporate and real estate issues.

Mr. Nasatir represents numerous local financial institutions and businesses and serves as solicitor for the Conshohocken Zoning Hearing Board. He has also served as special counsel for both Norristown Borough and Falls Township, as well as for Spartanburg County South Carolina regarding landfill issues.

Mr. Nasatir serves on both the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority Board of Directors.  He was named to the Philadelphia Business Journal's 2004 “40 Under 40 List.” This award recognizes 40 individuals under the age of 40 who are leading performers in their respective industries and communities. In 2007, 2006 and 2005 he was selected as one of the “Pennsylvania Rising Stars” as noted in Philadelphia magazine and “Pennsylvania Super Lawyers® - Rising Stars Edition.”  Rising Stars are chosen by their peers as being among the top up-and-coming lawyers in the Commonwealth.  Only 2.5 percent of Pennsylvania attorneys receive this honor each year.  In 2010, he was selected as one of the “Pennsylvania Super Lawyers®” as noted in Philadelphia magazine (June).  Super Lawyers are chosen based on peer review and independent research by Thomson Reuters, Legal, and recognizes the top 5% of all Pennsylvania attorneys.
 

Mr. Nasatir is a frequent lecturer, most recently presenting on lender liability claims and mitigation of risks for the Risk Management Association’s Philadelphia Chapter.

He has served on the board of directors of numerous entities, including the Harleysville Pennsylvania Rotary Club and the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation. He has also served as vice chairman of the Norristown Initiative – a nonpartisan nonprofit organization working to educate local residents on relevant issues - and as chairman of the Board of the Spring Mill Fire Company in Whitemarsh, Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, and previously served as solicitor for the George Washington Carver Community Center in Norristown, Pennsylvania for many years.

Active in numerous civic associations, Mr. Nasatir served four years as second vice chair of the Montgomery County Democratic Committee, and seven years as the Democratic party leader for Whitemarsh, Plymouth and Conshohocken Townships in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He also served on the National Executive Committee of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), and is currently a member of the Philadelphia Regional Counsel for AIPAC.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C, where he was a Rhodes Scholarship Finalist for the State of Illinois. He was awarded his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, Philadelphia, where he was articles editor for the Comparative Labor Law Journal.

Prior to joining Obermayer in 1997, Mr. Nasatir served as a law clerk for the Hon. Lawrence S. Margolis of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He was also director of visibility and volunteer activities for the Joe Hoeffel For Congress Campaign in 1996.

Mr. Nasatir is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, District of Columbia and Court of Federal Claims Bar Associations.
He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia and the Court of Federal Claims.
