Anastasius (Tassos) Efstratiades is a partner in the Philadelphia and Cherry Hill offices of Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP. He is the co-chair of the firm’s Business and Finance Department where his practice focuses on banking, general corporate matters, public finance, real estate development, construction law and international trade.

Mr. Efstratiades was born in Athens, Greece. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Villanova University, Villanova, PA. He also received a Diploma of French Studies from the University of Paris. He was awarded his Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law. Mr. Efstratiades is fluent in Greek and French.

Mr. Efstratiades has represented borrowers and lenders in commercial lending, leasing and acquisition transactions, including asset based loan facilities, letter of credit reimbursement agreements, real estate loans, construction loans and participation and intercreditor agreements; he has acted as bond counsel and underwriter’s counsel in public finance transactions; he has represented parties in real estate acquisitions and asset purchase transactions; and corporations in general corporate matters, including shareholder agreements, subscription agreements, venture capital financing transactions, corporate structure and governance, employment agreements and joint venture agreements.  Mr. Efstratiades has also worked on international transactions between U.S. and foreign companies. 

Mr. Efstratiades has served as chairman of the Governor’s Commission on International Trade for New Jersey (1992-95), as well as on the board for the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (1990-92) and on the Task Force on Business Retention, Expansion and Export Development of the New Jersey General Assembly (1992-2000). He is currently serving on the New Jersey Health Care Administration Board. He has also served as chairman of the Cherry Hill Economic Development Committee.

Mr. Efstratiades’ civic activities include chairman of the Greek American Chamber of Commerce, member of the Board of Directors of the Cherry Hill Regional Chamber of Commerce, and member of the Advisory Board of the World Trace Center of Greater Philadelphia. 

Mr. Efstratiades is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, District of Columbia, Philadelphia, and Camden County Bar Associations. Mr. Efstratiades has authored several articles in various legal periodicals, and is listed in Who's Who in America, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in American Law.

He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the District of Columbia.
