John E. Ryan is a partner with Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP. He is a member of the firm’s Business and Finance Department.

Mr. Ryan specializes in general corporate representation and real estate law. He has extensive experience in commercial leasing, sales and acquisitions, sale/leaseback transactions, commercial lending representing both lenders and borrowers, workouts, development of residential and commercial real estate, and zoning and land use.

Mr. Ryan received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Haverford College, Haverford, PA and his Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago School of Law. He began his career in 1983 with the Philadelphia law firm of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll. He joined Obermayer in1987and became a partner in 1994.

Mr. Ryan has co-authored, with Robert S. Ryan, Esq., a chapter entitled “Federal Constraints on Land Use Planning,” in Ryan, Pennsylvania Zoning Law and Practice.

Mr. Ryan is a member of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
