Mr. Batoff has extensive experience in civil litigation, renewable energy, intellectual property, real estate, corporate and health care matters.  He also handles commercial, personal injury and products liability defense matters in addition to a subspecialty in catastrophic losses.  Mr. Batoff is also a registered lobbyist.  Mr. Batoff has conducted seminars on Pennsylvania’s Lobbying Disclosure Law.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, and Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, Order of the Coif.  Prior to graduation, he was honored with the American Juris Prudence Award, Contracts, and the American Juris Prudence Award, Torts.  He joined Obermayer in 1986.

Mr. Batoff is the author of “How to Take Law Exams,” and was previously an adjunct professor for Drexel University, Philadelphia (1986-91).  He is author of the Law School Exam Handbook, published in 1985.  He served for nearly twenty years on the City Planning Commission, serving as Vice Chairman, and ultimately as Chairman.

Mr. Batoff co-authored “Pennsylvania Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act:  Contractors beware!” (biz570.com; North East Pennsylvania Business Journal, January 8, 2010).
 

Mr. Batoff was selected for inclusion in 2009 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers® as listed in Philadelphia magazine (June 2009) and the Law and Politics Magazine, “Pennsylvania Super Lawyers 2009.” 

Mr. Batoff is also politically active. He has served in numerous roles for Robert P. Casey, Jr., as Chairman, counsel and senior advisor, and has served in an advisory role in numerous presidential, gubernatorial and mayoral campaigns. 

Mr. Batoff is a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and American Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
