 Melissa L. Evans is an associate in the Pittsburgh office of Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP. She is a member of the firm’s Litigation department.
Ms. Evans has comprehensive experience in complex civil litigation matters. Her law practice concentrates in the area commercial, intellectual property, employment, construction and environmental litigation. Ms. Evans also has considerable experience and expertise in appellate matters in both the federal and state courts of appeals.
Prior to joining Obermayer, Ms. Evans worked as an associate at Babst, Calland, Clements & Zomnir, P.C., where her practice focused on commercial, construction, and environmental litigation in both the federal and state court systems, as well as in private arbitration. In 1998, Ms. Evans clerked for the Honorable William K Sessions, III of the United States District Court for the District of Vermont.
Ms. Evans earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where she served as a representative and class officer of the Student Bar Association and was a member of the Women’s Law Association. As a Vermont Scholar, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree, in English, from the University of Vermont.
Her publications include: Electronic Discovery: What Form and Who Pays?, Pennsylvania Bar Association Civil Litigation Update, Vol. 6, No. 4, p.3 (Fall 2001) and Magistrate Judges and CERCLA Allocation: Got Consent?, American Bar Association Environmental Litigation Committee Newsletter, Vol. 17, No. 3, p. 10 (Spring 2006).
Ms. Evans is a member of the Allegheny County, American and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
