Kevin J. Kotch is an associate with Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP. He is a member of the Litigation Department.
Mr. Kotch concentrates his practice in the areas of insurance coverage litigation, white collar criminal defense and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Obermayer, Mr. Kotch was an associate at Hoyle Fickler Herschel & Mathes LLP.
Mr. Kotch earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Temple University, where he was an editor for the Law Review and the International and Comparative Law Journal. He received his Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, in physics from Bloomsburg University, Bloomsburg, PA.
Mr. Kotch has extensive experience representing insurance policyholders in a wide variety of disputes.
- Represented manufacturers in obtaining insurance coverage for nationwide products liability claims.
- Represented outside directors of a failed technology corporation obtaining coverage for claims brought by a bankruptcy trustee and creditors committee.
- Represented a church and church leaders to obtain coverage for claims arising out of the transfer of a trust in the 1940s.
- Represented a corporation and its officers in obtaining coverage for malicious prosecution and defamation claims.
- Represented a corporation obtaining coverage for an environmental cleanup at a superfund site.
- Represented a corporation in a retrospective insurance premium dispute.
- Represented a corporation to obtain coverage for construction equipment destroyed by Hurricane Floyd.
Mr. Kotch is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey; the Eastern District of Pennsylvania; District of New Jersey and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
